i'm a grown up now - part II
i recently had a revelation that made me feel, for the first time, like i may actually be a grown up. it was definitely a shock to my system! it was, perhaps, not what you would expect - not how old my kids are, or that i am a homeowner, or that i have grey hair (just a few, but that's enough. trust me.) rather, it was that for the most part my friends have real, grown up jobs. they are psychiatrists & anesthesiologists, microbiologists & vaccine developers, lawyers & teachers! we all used to be kids playing at "grown up" - i knew a bunch of students & wanna be musicians & young moms who read college brochures. but not anymore. i realize that none of them really feel like grown ups, themselves - and i have included photographic evidence of that here for your viewing pleasure! :)

I am rather alarmed at that last thought--I do have to agree. Im also trying to decide if I feel more grown up when being tackled to the floor or while choking down laughter when an unlikely patient rattles off a diverse array of synonyms for "breasts"....
Courtesy of Roget's thesaurus we have the official synonyms for "breast". They are as follows:
bosom, bust, chest, front, gland, mammilla, nipple, teat, thorax, udder
Which brings two questions to mind:
1) Is mammilla pronounced similarly to tortilla?
and
2) What about melons and gozongas?
i don't know about you, but i always order chicken hooters at restaurants...
So...ta-tas and tots would be on the kid menu????
I think this whole discussion clearly indicates we are not all "really" grown up...and who'd want to be?!?!
