nappy new year?

this new year's eve, we canceled all our plans, rsvp'd "no" to several things, and are staying in. we have no plans to watch the ball drop, no plans to overindulge in the champagne, and no shame in saying so! new years eve is the most overrated "holiday' - mark said "it stops being fun when you're 23". i've had a few fun nye's over the years, for sure, but sometimes i'm just barely holding on til midnight. not this year. this year, my night is my own. maybe we'll watch a dvd, maybe we'll crack open the wine i've been aging this past year. maybe we won't.

one way or another, i hope you have a happy new year's eve - and much more importantly, i hope the upcoming year holds gifts for you that you wouldn't hope to imagine.

I happened upon your blog some time ago and have enjoyed it... but more so this evening. NYE is overrated so I am off to play Guitar hero while my husband and children watch football and play.. I'll be drinking coffee :)

Enjoy!

We get a new president this coming year! So excited!

I've never actually done anything substantial for New Year's Eve. My family has never been New Year's celebration people, and I've never really cared, because Christmas was always such a big deal. At most, we watched the ball drop (three hours later because it's west coast time). So today, just because I can, I'm watching the ball drop in real time for the first time in my life. And that's it. Oh, and I'm going to watch Anderson Cooper and Kathy Griffin ring in the new year because that will simply be hilarious, I'm sure. Here's to actually getting to meet you in 2009! (I hold up my proverbial glass of wine.)

JJ picked up deep dish pizza and desserts and I bought a couple of bottles of wine. We had pizza, drank wine, and were asleep way before the ball dropped. And it was lovely.
