grr!

first let me say that, steve, this has nothing to do with you. don't take it personally.

we are trying to lower our bills. get a hold of our money. work a budget. all of which is stressful enough...without time warner cable. we spent nearly 2 hours online and on the phone last night, but apparently, pretty much no one but TWC is "available" in our area. and they are freakin' expensive! but we have little or no other choice...and i am so mad! and i'm mad at all the companies i see on tv....att, comcast, verizon, embarq, to name a few...who make great promises, and aren't here! i mean, we are not in the backwaters of the state! this is the frickin' research triangle! this is Duke and Chapel Hill! for pete's sake! what the hell?!

DirecTV ... no kidding. It's super easy and all you need literally is a clear view of the southwestern sky!

DirecTV is great as long as it's not raining and the wind isn't blowing or...well...I feel your pain...my internet and cable are all bundled in one FAT payment to Time Warner!

forget cable. just get netflix. and play on your laptop. :)

how about the 'ol rabbit ears? You can get all the news and network shows for free. Pick up a book. Go to Blockbuster. And since you have a fancy new laptop, feel free to put it under your arm and take it to a coffee shop, or sit under a tree on one of the local college campuses where wireless internet connections abound...after all, portability is the point of the laptop, is it not? As far as I can tell, you have no reason not to get rid of those devils at Time Warner all together. Get out of your own way and get on with life...

There are lots of other choices... they just all suck compared to TWC... I mean, the last time your phone went out, I got it back on in a few minutes... nothing beats having an in with an Oz.
